Acceleration vs. Deliberation juxtaposes the speed of life with moments of stillness and appreciation through a diverse collection of abstract sculptures. The Cornell Flower-Sprecher Veterinary Library was an ideal location for the work to be exhibited because the space was designed for quiet contemplation, and the sculptures parallel biological subjects featured in the veterinary library collection. Movement is expressed through the repeating fractal-like geometries and distinct finishes that race across each surface. The series explores the joining or interlocking of undulating planes, whose varying curvatures create a spectrum of formal tension and release.
